Upcoming Dates & Events at Torkington Park SK7 4RQ: In 2026

We will be busy over August and September restoring benches in the Hazel Grove War Memorial Garden and also in the Secret Garden in Torkington Park. Check out the pictures in the Gallery. If you would like to help, please get in touch at torkingtonpark@yahoo.com or on Facebook – @torkingtonpark.

Halloween Trail : On Thursday October 29th from 2pm – 3.30pm. Starting at the Bowling Hut, a trail around the park to collect clues. The trail is accessible and suitable for primary/junior children. Collect the clues along the trail and get a prize! £1.00 per trail, cash only. All children are welcome to dress up in their spookiest costumes!

Christmas Carols in the Park : At the Bowling Hut, on Saturday December 5th from 4pm to 5pm, tea/refreshments available from 3.30pm. No tickets required. Come and sing along to carols, with music provided by Hazel Grove Brass Band. Limited indoor seating available with extra seating under gazebos. An opportunity to wear your Santa hat!

Task Mornings in Torkington Park: On the first Saturday of the Month from March to November. Please see the dates below. We meet at the Bowling Hut at 10am and spend a couple of hours doing jobs around the park until 12noon – come and join us – we are a friendly bunch!

Please wear walking boots, wellingtons or stout shoes and gardening gloves. However we can provide gloves and basic gardening equipment. Please let us know if you plan to attend as arrangements can change. Email at torkingtonpark@yahoo.com or Facebook @torkingtonpark

Dates for task mornings in 2026 are Saturdays – March 7th, April 4th, May 2nd, June 6th, July 4th, August 1st, Sept 5th, Oct 3rd and Nov 7th 2026. Please get in touch to confirm what we are doing on each task morning as arrangements can change.

Task Mornings at the Hazel Grove War Memorial Garden: On the second Saturday of the month and some Wednesdays from March to November. We meet at the Hazel Grove War Memorial, SK74DF at 10am until 12noon. The tasks range from tidying the borders, planting bulbs and plants, litter picking and removing weeds. Please wear walking boots, wellingtons or stout shoes and gardening gloves if you have them. We can also provide basic gardening equipment and gloves.
